Length x Width x Height (Height of stair case)

How to Install and Measure Attic Access Cover

Step 1 - Measure the attic entrance length & width

Measure the attic entrance from the attic or standing on the attic stairs to determine the attic cover size needed. The measurements for the Draft Out™ Is taken from inside the rough frame of the attic entrance.

Length x Width x Height ( Height of stair case )

Example: If the space between the framing is about 25" x 56" or within a couple of inches of these measurements a DO2 or DO4 will fit depending on the height of the stairs. The next measurement is the height of the actual stairs when they are folded up and closed.

Important Note! : If measuring the attic staircase opening from inside the attic be sure to only stand on designated walk boards and/or wood joist only. You should never place any weight on the drywall that separates the house from the attic ( ceiling drywall ). The Drywall will crack, break or cave in if weight is applied.

The DraftOut attic cover installs an inch down into the rough opening of the attic entrance.

Length x Width x Height 22 x 55 x 6

You would need to purchase the DO1 or 25 x 56 x 8

*This DraftOut is flexible and can expand within 1 to 1.5 inches from listed length x width.
